Luke: The Calling of Jesus (Luke 5:27-32)
Sermon Overview:
Luke 5:27-32
When we watch Jesus throughout his ministry it was the sick, the lost, and the sinners that his heart went out to and sought to heal. You don’t find Jesus feasting with the upper class much, but you do find him having a jolly time with the tax collectors and sinners because these are the people he came for.
Sermon Outline:
1. Jesus calls Levi to discipleship (v.27-28)
2. Levi calls Jesus and his friends to a party (v.29)
3. Scribes and Pharisees call Jesus to give an account (v.30)
4. Jesus clarifies for everyone to what he is called (v.31-32)
Scripture Reading:
Luke 15:1-10
