What is Repentance
Sermon Overview:
Repentance is often confused with remorse, or change of behavior, or confession of sin. What Scripture shows us is that until we have a change of mind, there is no repentance. If we simply attempt to change our behavior, we won’t change—we won’t be dealing with the heart of the issue. Our minds and our hearts are one, so until the mind is changed in regard to the lie and the truth, our behavior wont be changed either.
Sermon Outline:
1. Repentance in the Old and New Testaments
2. Throughout the N.T. the call is always to repent and believe
3. Repentance is not simply confessing your sin
4. Repentance is not about trying to change your behavior
Scripture Reading:
Luke 13:1-9
