What Sin Does
Sermon Overview:
So many Christians live a fake and phony life because they have issues of sin, which creates guilt, shame, fear, insecurity and blame, and they can’t seem to get rid of the impact it is having on their life. They wonder where the abundant life is that is in Christ, and they don’t know where to turn, because they think that if others knew the truth they would reject them. As people, we are experts at giving others the impression we think is needed for their acceptance, while inside we feel the shame, guilt, fear and insecurity that is killing us. We don’t understand the true nature of sin and death, and how we are to apply the gospel.
Sermon Outline:
1. Abundant life is what we have when we are in fellowship with God
2. Abundant life is always at risk the moment we are presented with a tempting lie
3. Abundant life is gone the moment we believe the lie and sin
Scripture Reading:
Leviticus 5:5-13
