With Parenting, You Need to Equip

Sermon Overview:
As parents, we need to see our primary task to be equipping our children with the gospel, so they are transformed and are able to transform the world around them. We are not interested in behavior modification for behavior modification, we are interested in life transformation of ourselves and the world around us. And this only happens as the gospel is believed and applied to our life, and applied to our children’s life.

Sermon Outline:
1. Equip for ministry
2. The fullness of Christ
3. Speak the truth in love

Scripture Reading:
Ephesians 4:11-24

Questions for further discussion:
1. As parents, what should we be seeking to accomplish with our children?
2. What does it mean to equip our children for ministry? What kind of ministry are they to have?
3. What happens when this ministry is effectively applied within the context of our family?
4. What do we commonly understand when we say, “Speaking the truth in love?” What is being spoken of in context of the chapter?
5. How do you plan to start equipping your children for this gospel ministry?
